"This morning's conference was great!  It was a wide range of participants on the panels and that was a great way to hear a wide view of options and ideas from the panelists!  Kevin Hancock gets my vote for most open, honest and helpful answers to questions. He was outstanding and his thoughts today were very heartfelt and honest.  Take away the layers of "facade" and discuss the truth of what it's like and how you face the issuers."

Background:
The Institute for Family-Owned Business (IFOB) is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization committed to supporting, strengthening and empowering family-owned businesses throughout the state of Maine. Since 1994, the Institute has served family business owners, executives and employees through a wide range of continuing education programs, networking opportunities and consulting services. The Institute is a comprehensive resource for family-owned business.

Each year, the IFOB recognizes family-owned, Maine-based businesses through its Maine Family Business Awards (MFBA).   The gala attracts family businesses large and small with an audience of over 400, hosted by News Center Maine news anchor Cindy Williams. The MFBA, presented in partnership with MEMIC is a celebration that pays more than just recognition; it serves as a vehicle for networking and opening up all shades of possibilities for families seeking to grow their business.

Since its inception, 89 businesses have been recognized for various categories of excellence. On June 5, 2019, we will celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Maine Family Business Awards with guest speaker, Shawn Gorman, Executive Chairman of the Board and the great-grandson of L.L.Bean. In celebration, a Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to an individual who has demonstrated sustained success, leadership and innovation in his or her own family business, to the IFOB and to the broader community.

2019 marks a true milestone for the IFOB and the awards program. This year, the IFOB will celebrate its 25th anniversary and the awards will celebrate its 20th anniversary. We would like to do a video as a story about who we are and how we’d like to get peopleinvolved.  We would like to play this video at the start of the awards and then have it available for marketing on our website, social media and more!

Objective:
The IFOB is looking for a creative videographer to work closely with the executive director of the IFOB, the director of communications and the award show producer to create this video.  We may also include the MFBA committee, judges, PR consultant, designer, and others as needed.

Statement of Work:
The MFBA awards night is the culmination of many, many elements, resulting in a profitable celebration of family businesses.  It is the largest fundraiser for the IFOB.  We need a 3-minute video to debut at the awards night and to WOW the crowd!

General Timetable:
The work must be completed at the latest by Monday, June 3, 2019.

Responsibilities:

  1.     Work with the IFOB team to gather the relevant story information.
  2.     Guide the IFOB with a creative narrative to tell our story.
  3.     Work with the IFOB team to schedule interviews for the video.
  4.     Follow the timeline for deliverables on or before the due date.
  5.     Provide appropriate video files to be used for the awards night and on our website.
  6.     Ensure that the video meets the high standards of creative design and quality.
  7.     Attend meetings as needed to complete the project.
Duration of Engagement:
This is a one-time video needed for the IFOB.  We may have it broken down into segments for the website depending on how it is used beyond the awards night.

Proposal & Pricing Instructions:
Please prepare a written proposal, including cover letter, resume, three references and budget estimate.  Your proposal should include the kind of information that we will need to make our decision including why you would like to create this video and your working style. Please submit work samples and/or links that demonstrate your experience with similar videos plus any new ideas you would like us to consider.  Thank you in advance for your consideration.  We look forward to continuing our discussion.
