Family Business Spotlight Series at the IFOB
The Institute for Family-Owned Business's (IFOB) goals are to be the:
…premier resource for family-run businesses in Maine,
…predominant source of outreach programs for family-owned businesses
…recognized expert in and networking resource for inimitable family-business issues.
Welcome to the "Family Business Spotlight." Each year, we feature two family businesses who are members of the Institute and have a deep commitment to supporting family-owned businesses in Maine. Each family is highlighted on our website, on Facebook, in emails, on Mainebiz, on calendar websites, Linked In and on the radio with The Derek Volk Show. We continue this series for 2018 with two family businesses, Rising Tide Brewing Company and Sweester's Apple Barrel and Orchards.

We continue the 2018 Family Business Spotlight series with Constance “Connie” Sweetser, her son Greg, and their team at Sweetser's Apple Barrel and Orchards.
This family-owned farm, specializing in apples, was founded in 1812 and was the winner of the 2010 Maddy Corson Small Business Award for the Maine Family Business Awards.
The unique feature of this retail farm stand is the personal knowledge the staff shares with customers about the 50 varieties now grown in the orchard. Located in Cumberland Center, this farm has transitioned from a rural setting to a farm oasis in suburban Maine. Many heirloom apples attract customers from across that state and extends the apple season from late July through November.
Greg Sweetser, the fifth generation owner of Sweetser's Apple Barrel and Orchards, will be at this event to introduce the business and answer any questions you may have!
Join us for our final Family Business Spotlight 2018 with Sweester's Apple Barrel and Orchards!
