Business Description

I have a PhD in Computer Science with an emphasis in Artificial Intelligence. Although my skills are not directly related to the mission of the business, they have proven extremely useful in helping to automate the utilities and lighting in the building and do implement the online marketing of The Playhouse and its events. A primary value is cultural enrichment. The impetus for starting this business was to provide a new home for the Aqua City Actors Theatre. After securing the building, we expanded that vision to include general support for community cultural events and education. This ultimately also led to a mutually beneficial relationship, providing a home to the Elm City Community Music School. A second strong value is inclusiveness. We focus on cultural opportunties by and for community members, as a complement to more "professional" opportunities at other local venues. And we welcome and encourage every variety of person and performance that will enrich our community culturally. The Playhouse At Waterville Station is a performance and event venue centered around the concept of artful “play”. Play can include acting, singing, comedy, music, recreation, education, or any other form of artistry or culture that makes our hearts joyful.
