Family Business History

Evergreen Yard Care was started in 1984 by Rocky Gravel who used the business to supplement his income from the fire department where he served 36 years full time. Doing a modest book of accounts for both lawn care and snow plowing. He then put the company on the back burner in the early 90's and started Precision Tree & Landscaping with another local firefighter. Kyle his oldest son was always around equipment and the crew at a young age and over the years started to help out here and there with what little tasks a young kid could do on a jobsite from time to time. Once Kyle turned 11 he started mowing lawns to make some extra money. Rocky shut down the tree company around 2009 and received some assets that would help jumpstart Evergreen Yard Care once again! Kyle & Rocky started picking up more accounts and growing until they had to start hiring on employees to help manage. After Kyle went to college at SMCC in South Portland he decided he wanted to stay in southern Maine. In 2018 the company was incorporated and he opened up the southern Maine location for Evergreen Yard Care Inc. Growing the southern Maine location quickly by 2022 Evergreen Yard Care found its new shop location in South Portland. Growing to 14 employees company wide between both locations the company is scaling up to be a go to in the property services industry in Maine!
