Family Business History
Chalmers Insurance Group is a fourth-generation, family-owned and operated independent insurance agency headquartered in western Maine, with eight offices in Maine and New Hampshire and employs 100 co-workers. Currently owned by 4th generation family members, Dottie Chalmers Cutter, Jim Chalmers, and non-family member and President, Steve Cote. Chalmers earned the distinction of being a "2021 Best Places to Work in Insurance" posting an impressive overall employee engagement score of 96%. In 2019 they were voted as a Best Agency to Work For in the United States, Bronze award for the East, by Insurance Journal.
