SKORDO is a shop for people who love to cook. Our mission is to empower the home cook by: 1. Equipping them with the best ingredients, accessories, and recipes 2. Educating them on how to use them 3. Exciting them to have fun and experiment in the kitchen We offer freshly ground, small batch blends and rubs, spices and herbs, salts and peppers, and other unique ingredients, inspiring cookbooks, accessories, and tabletop pieces.

Family Business History

John (Dad), Cari (Wife, Step-mom), Annie (Daughter), and Erin (Daughter) launched SKORDO in November 2016. Our love for cooking began before we can all remember. Our grandfather (John's Dad, Peter) emigrated from Greece and owned a restaurant while John was growing up. This, and traveling the world in the Navy and as a consultant began a fascination with different cuisines and ingredients. Annie and Erin inherited this interest in cooking and exploring through food. Cari always shared this passion for food exploration, quality ingredients, and home-cooking as well. We have cultivated this interest into skills and knowledge that we get to use in the kitchen, and to share at SKORDO. The idea for SKORDO began many years before it had a name. We dreamt of creating a shop that we always wanted to exist as home cooks, that uses our skills from the business world for something we're passionate about, and that would allow us to work together as a family. That is how SKORDO began. SKORDO is the Greek word for garlic. It's a word that shows where our passion came from while simultaneously promoting inclusiveness with our fellow home cooks. After all, who doesn't love garlic?
