Day in the Life of a Stand Manager:
- Ice cream connoisseur educator- Enthusiastically share knowledge and recommendations about Gifford’s Ice cream with customers and Stand family.
- Stocking and Inventory-Stocks all ice cream, freezers, supplies and processes weekly inventory to have all menu items ready and available for customers.
- Maintenance- Ensure the stand and parking lot are kept in a safe, clean and organized condition; Cleaning, washing dishes, sweeping, mopping, exterior trash pickup etc.
- Leadership of the safety and hygiene standards – keeping the stand sparkling clean!
- Cash Management- Position requires general cash handling, transaction tendering, POS trouble shooting, opening/closing deposits, voids, returns, daily audits etc.
- Contribute to an environment where we create sweet moments of joy for our team & guests.
- Hustle, hustle, hustle – whether there’s a line out the door or we’ve hit a slow spell, keep the stand family productive.
- Lead and provide stellar customer service in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and stay focused under pressure.
- Hold stand family accountable to respecting safety and quality standards to create a consistently joyful experience for our customers.
- Coaching and Developing Others —identify developmental needs of others and coaching, mentoring, or otherwise helping to improve their knowledge or skills.
- Leadership of the Stand Family, Customer Safety and Customer service to adhere to the Gifford’s Code of Conduct.
- Labor management- Creating and managing weekly stand family schedules to provide stellar customer service while staying within budget.
- Payroll management- Daily review of employee’s punches, time off requests and biweekly payroll.
- Building the stand family- recruit, onboard and train the stand family to meet business needs.
- **Leadership of Mini Golf course and mini-golf family (Skowhegan Manager)**

Stand Manager Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience with Leadership and Customer service preferred
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Available to work entire season (Holidays Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day Weekends Mandatory).
- Must have reliable transportation and flexible availability (daytime, nighttime, weekend, and holidays)
- You can communicate clearly in an unapologetically positive manner to all people – customers, fellow stand family, and Gifford’s Leadership.
- Ability to take direction from Gifford’s leadership, create a plan for executing and provide direction to stand family.
- Attention to Detail — Position requires being detailed and thorough in completing tasks with the ability to monitor others performance in completing tasks.
- Analytical Thinking — Position requires analyzing information and using logic to address work-related challenges.
- Communicate professionally — Position requires providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
- Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks such as standing and walking for long periods of time, with constant moving, bending, lifting, reaching and turning during all shifts in close proximity to others.
- Must be able to reach and grasp with hands, talk and hear from far away and in close proximity, taste and smell.
- Ability to work around ice cream equipment with moving parts and extreme temperature changes when entering our freezers. Will be required to withstand time inside of a freezer environment for receiving orders and doing inventories
- Must be able to climb ladders, balance, stoop, kneel and crouch while also being able to lift and move up to at least 20 pounds, but occasionally up to 50 pounds or more.
- Manager Serve Safe Certified is a Plus
- Attendance is an essential function of the job
