This year’s series will be a bit different than in years past. Week one will offer optional instruction on the driving range for anyone who needs a brush up, or practice. Then each week there will be a different “game” and we will shuffle-up players so you get to play with different women every week and meet new people!
The games will be based on a basic handicap so that whatever level player you are, the playing field will be even! Don’t worry if you’re a beginner, this style of play is inclusive for everyone!
We will play from 5:15-7:15 p.m. with a shotgun start so that everyone starts from a different hole and there’s no waiting. At 7:15 p.m. you’ll come back to the clubhouse, hand in your card with scores at the pro shop, and gather in the clubhouse for your free drink and prizes (in the form of additional free drinks to be used at any time during the Wine & 9 program) will be awarded.
The individual weeks games we are planning are as follows (Subject to change or shuffle):
May 16 – “Friendly Scramble” – Everyone hits and moves to the best ball. Only one “team” score is kept. 1st and 2nd place teams get prizes
May 23 – “Bad Behavior Week” – Play your own ball but keep track of each time someone ends up in the water or the sand – Prizes given to the two women with the most balls in the water and sand
May 30 – “Blind Draw” – Your score and partners score will be combined at the end and 1st – 3rd place twosomes get prizes – however, you won’t know who your random partner is till after you’re done playing.
June 6 – “4’s Only” – Play all 9 holes but your scores only count on the (5) holes that are par 4’s, 1st – 3rd awarded
June 13 – “T and F” – Play all 9 holes on the back 9 but the only scores that count are the holes that start in T and F (Ten, Twelve, Thirteen, Fourteen, Fifteen), 1st – 3rd awarded

About the Course:
The 203-acre facility in Southern Maine features a meticulously maintained 18-hole public championship golf course, a modern 2,500 square-foot clubhouse, a full-size practice range and two putting greens, as well as a golf academy with professional PGA Instruction. Their staff is experienced, friendly, and professional.
The club’s namesake, The Nonesuch River, runs directly through the golf course property, creating “wetland areas” which support a variety of plant and animal species. During the design and construction process, they were careful to maintain valuable wildlife habitat important to local moose, wild turkey, fox and deer populations. They worked closely with state and local officials to limit our environmental impact on the beautiful forest and river area. Their maintenance philosophy is to continue to provide an ongoing, thriving wildlife habitat throughout the wetlands and forested areas. Nonesuch is unique in that there is no development on the golf course except for the clubhouse and golf-related amenities. It is truly a golf course situated in its natural environment.
