Technical colleges have long recruited high schoolers for careers in the trades, but Maine’s persistent workforce crunch has brought other industries into the halls to look for future hires, including aquaculture and advanced manufacturing.
Join moderator Carol Coultas and panelists from both guidance and recruitment offices to talk about how this strategy works for employers and teenagers, and how it might benefit your company on Thursday, Nov. 30, 4:30-6 p.m.at UNE’s Innovation Hall. Light refreshments and a cash bar will be available. Networking starts at 4:30, conversation begins at 5 p.m. Register for free at pressherald.com/revup.
On the panel:
Scott Harris, board chair of the Maine School Counselor Association and director of senior placement at Scarborough High School.
Jon Mason, chief strategy officer of Jobs for Maine Graduates, a nonprofit that helps graduating seniors know their passion and then places them within suitable careers.
Kari Kaczor, manager of Environmental Literacy and Workforce Development for Maine Sea Grant.
