"This morning's conference was great!  It was a wide range of participants on the panels and that was a great way to hear a wide view of options and ideas from the panelists!  Kevin Hancock gets my vote for most open, honest and helpful answers to questions. He was outstanding and his thoughts today were very heartfelt and honest.  Take away the layers of "facade" and discuss the truth of what it's like and how you face the issuers."

During  the presentation participants will explore a few of the key steps in their succession plan, work on some of the details, and have a framework to continue working on the plan afterwards. Jim Lyon of Summit 9 Consulting will showcase the work he’s done with Deirdre Wadsworth, president of Hardypond Construction and how his method can help participants start on at least three major considerations for their succession planning: personal readiness, valuations and financial considerations, and succession readiness and development.

Our panelists include the following:

Jim Lyon - President, Summit 9 Consulting

Deirdre Wadsworth - President, Hardypond Construction
Deirdre began learning the construction trade in third grade when her father, founded Hardypond Construction. In 2006, after graduating with a BA in Economics from the University of Denver and completing a year as an AmeriCorps VISTA, Deirdre began working at Hardypond full-time. Deirdre took over as President in 2015. In addition, Deirdre has an MBA with a focus on Sustainability from Green Mountain College and is a LEED Accredited Professional. Bob Gaudreau - Vice President & Project Manager, Hardypond Construction
Since 1990, Bob Gaudreau has watched his company grow from a startup to a major competitor in Maine’s construction industry. Bob’s love of renovation work was the fuel that sustained Hardypond Construction throughout its initial development. For years, Bob led on projects that presented unique construction problems that had to be solved with out-of-the-box thinking.

In addition to being the founder, co-owner, and Vice President of Hardypond Construction, Bob can be seen drawing up estimates, working in the field as a Project Manager, and doing anything in between –– he’ll jump in wherever help is needed.

Outside of Hardypond, Bob has served on numerous committees and boards, including the Portland Zoning Board. He and his wife live on the Maine coast and take frequent trips to their vacation home in the Virgin Islands. Bob is an avid gardener and enjoys being active outdoors with his dog Oliver.
